Finding customers of similar type
This task is a bit (though only a
bit) more complicated than the ones before. As a
pre-requirement to searching you have to define WHAT you
are looking for, i.e. which parameters.
You maybe searching for:
- areas with a 50 % ratio of
people over 50 years
- areas with a young population
above average
- areas highly populated with
divorced college-educated men
- ...
The key to achieve this is again
using the query function of the GIS. This tool is
directly querying the data underneath the digital maps
(typically: census data) for areas matching your
criterias.
Any found area will be highlighted
or shaded - this depends on the GIS or the setup.
